The MSR series Magnetic Card Reader with RS232 decoder (serial interface) cannot display or read data / texts directly to computer applications like Windows Notepad or Microsoft Office Word. Instead of generating keyboard emulations, the RS232 decoder transforms TTL signals into standard RS-232 data streams. So, the serial Mag-Stripe Card reader only functions with software applications that support RS-232 communication protocols.
