PCA-6176 100 MHz FSB Pentium^® II/III CPU Card Available Now!

Advantech now introduces the PCA-6176, 100 MHz FSB Pentium^® II CPU card. The PCA-6176 will be ready for shipment by the end of April this year.

The PCA-6176 supports all current Slot 1 Pentium^® II / Pentium^® III and Celeron^TM processors up to 500 MHz (and higher speeds in the future). It features the Intel^® 82440BX chipset which supports a front side bus of 100 MHz.

Versatile On-board Features

In addition to its high-performance processor and chipset, the PCA-6176 comes with the following outstanding on-board features:

• Four DIMM sockets for SDRAM up to 1 GB, supports ECC
• On-board VGA/AGP with 4 MB VRAM
• On-board PCI Ultra Wide SCSI-2 controller
• On-board 10/100Base-T networking controller
• ISA High Drive 64 mA (HISA)

To meet customers' different needs, some of the above on-board features are optional. The following selection table shows the on-board features which various models include:

Parallel-mounted CPU

Unlike in the existing PCA-6175 and PCA-6275, the Pentium^® II/III CPU module of the PCA-6176 is located on the rear side of the PCB. The CPU sits parallel to the card, making the entire assembly remarkably slim and compact. With this nifty design, the PCA-6176 effectively only occupies two additional slots. Moreover, when inserting the PCA-6176 onto a backplane, users can still insert half-size ISA add-on cards onto the two slots opposite the PCA-6176's CPU. (Please refer to the picture adjacent.)
