New Universal Isolated PCI Relay DI Card Released by Advantech
The new PCI-1760U launched today is a fresh initiative from Advantech to offer an array of features on a digital input relay card. Universal PCI is used to cater for both 5 and 3.3 V systems, and the 8 optically isolated digital inputs with isolation protection up to 2,500 VDC makes it unproblematic to collect digital signals in noisy environments. Also available is 8 relay actuators that can be used as an on/off control devices or small power switches, and 2 isolated PWM outputs for custom applications.

FPM-3170 17" Flat Panel Monitor replaces FPM-3175
Advantech has replaced its FPM-3175 with another flat panel monitor specially designed for industrial applications: FPM-3170, a 17-inch SXGA TFT LCD. The chassis of the FPM-3170 is made of stainless steel, and offers an optional capacitive touch screen. In addition, the FPM-3170 also provides many industrial-grade features such as a NEMA4/IP65 compliant Al-Mg front panel and multi-signal input to support BGA, DVI-D, Video and S-Video.

The new PCI-1611U PCI-1612U and PCI-1620U have been upgraded to meet market demands for higher reliability and stability. The upgraded cards support universal PCI connectors for both 3.3 V and 5 V signals, and surge protection for trigger conditions, which ensures that power lines are completely secure.

PCL-839+ and PCL-839 Comparison
With a shortage of the PDS-1024 motion chip, the PCL-839 is being replaced by PCL-839+. The PCL-839+ is practically identical to its predecessor. It's a low-cost 3-axis stepping motor control card that provides the most basic motion control functions like linear and 2D circular interpolation. Some improvements is offered though. The PCL-839+ supports a higher pulse out rate and a bigger position counter than PCL-839.

Advantech Introduces 12-channel Sink and Source Type Digital Output Modules
Advantech presented today the 12-channel ADAM-4056S sink type and the ADAM-4056SO source type isolated digital output modules. These two modules provide higher maximum load than any of the other ADAM-4000 I/O modules, and feature a communication watchdog, fail safety functions, as well as support for the Modbus RTU protocol. The maximum 200 mA load of the ADAM-4056S digital output is applicable to versatile devices with sink type digital inputs. The 1 A per channel of the ADAM-4056SO digital output signal is used in applications such as solenoid valve control in chemical plants.

Application Story: More Reliability and Security of System Control in Hydroelectric Plant Application
A manufacturer of hydraulic machines in China needed an automated quality assurance system to eliminate common errors in their manual testing process. With Advantech's IPC-610P and ADAM-5510 PC-based Controllers, a distributed performance verification system was designed. The system can measure oil pressure tolerance and test the communication interface as well as the inverter and motor operation status. The result was increased efficiency and accuracy, leading to higher quality and increased manufacturing capacity.
