announced today the new high-density PCI-1758U
series. Featuring 128 channels, the cards are
designed for large and demanding applications.
PCI-1758UDI offers 128 inputs, PCI-1758UDO has
128 outputs, and PCI-1758UDIO is combination card
with its 64 outputs and 64 inputs. The PCI-1758U
cards also offer several new functions to improve
reliability, signal quality and programming flexibility...

Advantech
has announced the coming release of ADAM-4562,
which is a one-port Isolated USB to RS-232 Converter.
The new converter improves over its predecessor
ADAM-4561 with capability to use 9-wire RS-232
and get its power from the USB port. With 9-wire
RS-232 capability, this converter meets the requirements
of PLCs, modems, and controller equipment. |

significant factor behind Taiwan's recent successes in
high technology is government managed research institutes,
which research and transfer cutting-edge technology to
companies in Taiwan. This project is a technology transfer
from such an institute to a large manufacturer of tube
bending machinery in southern Taiwan. The research institute
was in charge of the entire software development, while
the hardware was provided by Advantech. The end-result
is an industry-leading tube bending machine.

new model that could store more patterns and allow quicker
change of these patterns. After finding two products that
almost matched the required specifications, Advantech
helped customize the products to give them a new form
factor and perfect fit for easier system integration and

Car Wash Application Story |

| With
rising wages and 24/7 service expectations, a leading
chain of gas stations in Taiwan decided to create
a self-serviced car wash. This required that the
system was fully integrated with payment systems
such as credit cards, cash cards, Modex, stored
value cards and membership cards. But the first
attempt failed since the operator interface was
not visible in sunlight. With the new FPM-3100HA-R
and UNO-2160, the second attempt at the application
has been successful, and the customer is already
busy developing new features. |
