Two New 2-Port RS-422/485 PCI Communication Controller

Advantech announced today the launch of PCI-1601AU and PCI-1601BU, which are 2-port RS-422/485 Universal PCI communication cards. The cards come with support for both 3.3 and 5 V signal systems with their universal PCI interface, and PCI-1601BU also provides surge protection for more rugged environments. Both cards are suitable for multitasking environments with their 128-byte FIFO.

PCI-1601AU and PCI-1601BU can be used to create cost-effective serial communication systems with RS-422/485 protocols. Both PCI-1601AU and PCI-1601BU provide 16 kV ESD protection, while the surge-protected design of PCI-1601BU shields the system from abrupt high voltages up to 2,500 VDC.

With a Universal PCI connector for 3.3 V and 5 V signals, the cards can be used in both old and new systems and configuration is easy with the Plug & Play function.
Up to four cards can be used in one system, for a total of eight ports. Useful for their target applications in: manufacturing automation, building automation, facility management, environmental monitoring, and traffic management systems.

All PCI serial communication cards are available for Microsoft® Windows® 98/2000/ME/XP, with full driver support. Also, with Advantech's bundled ICOM Tools software, you can test the PCI card's performance by analyzing the port status, and easily configure the settings of the card.
