| Advantech Release APIs
Aimed at Windows XPE & CE. NET Application Developers |
 |
In an effort to help higher-level
developers build watchdog, SMBus and GPIO functions into their
applications and peripherals, Advantech has released a suite
of free APIs (Application Programming Interface) that will
enable more streamlined and automated access to our eplatform
service. |
Advantech API calls support not only SOM-XXXX Series, but also
most Advantech single board computers, including PCM-XXXX, PC/104
and others. The Advantech API interface allows you to access
these features in a hardware independent manner under Windows
XP Embedded and Windows CE.

Advantech Provides Red Hat Linux 9.0
Installation Guide |
| |
Linux has grown very fast in the past several
years, especially in the fragmented embedded market. Linux
continues to gain momentum and serious consideration from
embedded developers as a viable embedded operating system for
development projects. Using Linux offers the availability of
source code, reduced licensing costs, reliability,
communication capabilities, and support for popular
microprocessors as the key reasons driving the use of Linux.
Although Red Hat is still the most popular Linux solution,
there are many other kinds of Linux in the world.
Red Hat Linux 9.0
installation Guide for Advantech ePlatform
For servicing our customers, Advantech has released
the “Red Hat Linux 9.0 installation Guide”. It provides a
guide for customers to refer to when installing Red Hat 9.0 on
an Advantech ePlatform.
For example, when installing Red Hat 9.0 to the PPC-123T; customers
get confused when selecting which serial port to use? By referring
to
Serial Port manually re-config from
our guide, users will know how to configure the serial port.
In Xwindow configurations, touch panel drivers can't be detected
by systems automatically, so we provide our solution in a step-by-step
way. Customers are able to install Red Hat 9.0 very quickly
& smoothly. |
