 The Advantech PCE-7210 is a server-grade SHB with support for dual IntelR XeonR / Xeon LV processors at speeds up to 3.6GHz. Based around the advanced architecture of the Intel E7520 chipset, the PCE-7210 supports up to 8GB of dual channel DDR2-400 ECC registered DRAM, and supplies two PCI Express x8 and one PCI Express x4 connections. Thanks to an onboard Broadcom BCM5715 Gigabit LAN controller (via a PCI Express x4 LINK), the PCE-7210 enables high throughputs for heavily loaded networks. An optional IPMI 2.0 module provides comprehensive platform management capabilities for system administrators to ensure improved system reliability. |

The Advantech PCE-5120 is a desktop or graphics class SHB, supporting a broad choice of LGA775 dual-core Intel PentiumR D / Pentium 4 and CeleronR processors at speeds of up to 3.6GHz. Featuring the Intel 945G chipset and supporting up to 4GB of DDR2 533/667MHz DRAM, it is compatible with commercially available PCI Express x16 graphics cards (via its PCI Express x 16 slot). An additional four PCI Express x1 Links permit connections to a wide range of PCI Express peripheral devices.

Advantech backp lane solutions feature strong expansion capabilities and are the industry's most comprehensive. The first product rollouts include 14-slot, 8-slot, 6-slot and 4-slot backplanes with an emphasis on legacy PCI slot support. As PCIe gains popularity, Advantech will match growing demand by offering backplanes with more PCIe (x1, x4, x8, or x16) slots and different combinations of legacy (PCI-X, and 32-bit/33 MHz PCI) slot support.

SHB Express backplanes and SHBs are compatible with existing PICMG 1.0 chassis by specification, thus ensuring customers can leverage Advantech's existing range of chassis, from 1U to 7U rackmount and versatile wallmount units covering all market segments and applications. Most Advantech chassis can be equipped with a redundant power supply and all feature state of the art industrial design, modularity, hot-swappable accessories, storage options, redundant cooling systems, and remote system monitoring. Each IPC chassis is CE and UL approved. |

Robust Mechanical Design |

To ensure system reliability , Advantech's anti-vibration mechanism features an innovative screw-down design for SHB cards with a specially designed rubber mount at each end of the card. In demanding industrial environments, particularly those with high levels of vibration or movement such as in oil-rigs, industrial and military environments, it is inevitable that vibrations may cause an SHB's golden finger connection to work loose. Advantech's anti-vibration mechanism prevents disconnections, averting critical system errors and maximizing the MTBF. |

Improved System Thermal Design |

Advantech's revolutionary chassis airflow design applies a system concept to the problem of cooling. The arrangement of the chassis and its fans are relative to the positions of the SHB and backplanes, and all the components combine to direct the airflow strategically. This ensures core system temperatures are kept at healthy levels, further boosting MTBFs.
Advantech's latest chassis is designed to direct airflow in the most efficient manner possible. It features a specially vented CPU heatsink and an optimally-angled cooling fan that works in conjunction with chassis fans to further boost thermal performance in the most demanding environments. The CPU cooler design also features a robust backside bracket that eliminates PCB twisting. It is a more effective solution than the popular cooling fans now widely used. Airflow extends across the CPU and is directed onto the system chipsets in a better way, then it flows over add-on cards as well, and then outside the chassis. Designed specifically with new SHB Express solutions in mind, this thermal design capitalizes on the reduced number, and lower currents, of cables inside the chassis. | Longevity and Revision Control |

Industrial systems are typically used for many years and may need extension or replacement during this period. Without long-term product life support, a system with a major problem or inadequacy would have to be replaced by a new system with different chipsets, CPUs and device drivers. Difficulties facing the user become obvious immediately: existing video cards, device drivers, and application software may not be compatible with the new platform. There could be I/O register or interrupt conflicts, driver / application software incompatibilities, peripheral (like HDD or CD drive) incompatibilities, or power supply problems. Clearly, system longevity is an issue critical to the TCO of systems.
Advantech platforms are designed only with industrial grade components that are in adequate supply currently, and which feature at least three to five year life cycles. | Customization and System Integration Services |

Advantech provides a tailor-made design service with efficient, low-cost design capability. Full customization services include BIOS and chassis as well as backplane design. Customers are free to inquire about services that include changing ID and color, modifying the chassis size and changing backplane specifications for PCIe/PCI/PCI-X slots, to build a brand new, custom-designed chassis. Further, streamlined integration services enable customers to specify system configurations freely. The system will then be assembled and tested by Advantech and drop-shipped to the designated address. In this way, customers can concentrate on developing their applications and services, without expending too much effort on system assembly. |
